2018 film ‘Bhonsle’ is one of Manoj Bajpayee’s lead movies which is extremely close to his heart. The Devashish Makhija directed movie went for a digital release, premiered on SonyLiv on 26 June 2020. The action drama movie follows the journey of a terminally-ill Maharashtrian cop who tries to protect a migrant girl and her brother from a local politician.
‘Bhonsle’ premiered at the Busan International Film Festival in 2018, also screened at the MAMI Mumbai Film Festival and the International Film Festival Rotterdam in 2019. The movie has also picked up two awards at the Asian Film Festival Barcelona and a ‘Best Actor’ award for Manoj Bajpayee at the Asia Pacific Screen Awards.
Critically acclaimed movie ‘Bhonsle’ showed a different acting perspective of Manoj Bajpayee and this time, Forbes made the actor in the best performances of 2020. Overwhelmed by the response the movie has received, Manoj shared a post for the movie on his Instagram.
