Winning big at Busan International Film Festival, Alankrita Srivastava is back with another women centric film, ‘Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare’, starring Bhumi Pednekar as Kitty and Konkona Sen Sharma as Dolly.
Set in Noida, ‘Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare’ is based on two cousin sisters where Kitty works in a late night hotline and Dolly is married, has two sons but doesn’t like her husband’s unambitious ways. The story shows the two leads who refuse to live by the rules of the society and will do whatever it takes to break the invisible shackles.
Unsatisfied with life, ‘Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare’ is an emotional yet empowering story of how the two women discover freedom and themselves in a joyride while dealing with social taboos and challenges. In this journey, they also fall in love, Dolly with a young delivery executive, played by Amol Parashar and Kitty with someone whom she meets on a call through work, portrayed by Vikrant Massey.
The film’s trailer promises a plethora of emotions, watch out for the strong screen presence, dialogue delivery and chemistry between the titular characters, played by Bhumi Pednekar and Konkona Sen Sharma. It also shows how women also have the right to live their own life, fulfil their dreams and desires regardless of any moral judgement.
