One of the biggest fashion events of the state, the Lulu Fashion Week has kick-started on May 9th. The show is organized by Celio and was officially inaugurated by actors Unni Mukundan and Sruthi Ramachandran. Bold Outline’s editors bring you the daily update from the front rows of the runway. The inaugural day featured the Spring/Summer 2018 from Levis, Urban Touch, Allen Solly, V Dot, Peter England, Meezo, and Delsey.
Here are the trends of these brands fresh from the ramp.
Levi’s Women showcased their new Spring Summer 2018 collection which encompassed a variety of tees, truckers, jeans, jean jackets, and button-up shirts. The collection features blend textural fabrics, unique dyeing techniques and take an inspiration from the ocean. Even the shades of white, blue and aquamarine remind of the coastal life. And the brand stays true to its body-hugging denim cut with slim, skinny and super skinny fits.
As the work culture of today getting more relaxed and way cooler with sleek offices, bean bags, games and coffee, the Spring/Summer Collections of Allen Solly brings this transition in its work wear as well. The brand tells us that formal work wear will no longer be just blacks or shades of grey. You can experiment with bright colours, floral prints, and stylized silhouette cuts. And you should not limit with the formal trousers, shirts and coats, but also dresses, tops, tunics, skirts, shorts, suits and blazers.
One could also note the resurgence of tropical printed shirts this summer. The Summer Collection of Urban Touch gives the flavour of a vacation, with a Hawaiian vibe though the colours are not that loud. The collection adds a bit of a holiday élan while the fabric helps you cool off as the temperature rises.
