Get ready for a new chapter in the world of sports!
Due to its geographic location, North Kashmir’s most popular destination, Gulmarg is ready to host the first ever Khelo India Winter Games 2020. Around 900 participants will take part in the national event, starting 7 March.
Organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council while being sponsored by Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, the Games will be held in various sports disciplines. To be inaugurated by Union Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju, the five days extravaganza will end on 11 March.
Sports like snow skiing, snowboarding, snow shoeing, ski mountaineering, ice stock, snow rugby and snow baseball will be held at the Khelo India Winter Games 2020. This start a new culture of winter games in India, opening new doors for athletes at international tournaments.
