Hugh Grant is following in the footsteps of George Clooney! The 57-year-old Notting Hill star is set to tie the knot with the Swedish TV producer, Anna Eberstein later this month.
A photograph of the wedding banns has been posted in several newspapers. The official notice of the forthcoming marriage was on display on screens in the office at Chelsea Old Town Hall.
Hugh, who made a rare public appearance with 39-year-old Anna at the 2018 Golden Globe Awards, have been romantically linked for over six years and share three children.
She welcomed her first son, John, with Grant, in 2012 and couple had a daughter in December 2015. Again in March 2018, Hugh’s ex-girlfriend Liz Hurley revealed that the couple had welcomed their third child.
In the past, the star has dated a string of women amongst them is his 13-year romance with actress and model Liz Hurley. The news may have come as a shock to many as, during a 2016 interview on SiriusXM radio show, Grant said he found the concept of marriage to be ‘unromantic’.
He said, ‘I always admire the French and the Italians who are very devoted to their marriages. They take them extremely seriously, but it is understood that there might be other visitors at 5 o’clock in the afternoon. You just never boast about.’
Grant went on to add that while he is not completely put off by the idea of marriage, given it is with the right person. He once said, ‘I can see the lovely aspect if you marry exactly the right person — your best friend and it is cosy and lovely. But, people make so many mistakes. Do I think human beings are meant to be in 40-year-long monogamous, faithful, relationships? No, No, No. Whoever said they were? Only the Bible or something.
