One of the much-awaited films is the sequel to Irrfan Khan starrer Hindi Medium. The lead actor for the Hindi Medium sequel has been finalised. It is confirmed that Irfan Khan will be seen in the lead role in the sequel of Hindi Medium. However, the changes are being made in the sequel of the film. As per a report, the film might release with a new title and the story will be continued from where they had left.
Before there was news that the title of the sequel will be ‘Hindi Medium 2’ but now as per a report, the film will have a new title ‘English Medium’. ‘Hindi Medium’ highlighted the struggles faced by the parents. Now, ‘English Medium’ will show the continued story in which Irrfan’s daughter goes to the US for higher education and the struggles she will face to fit in a new country.
As per Deccan Chronicle, “The film will not just address the issues of Hindi medium students in the US but also those of the students from other countries who face trouble fitting into a system where English is the primary spoken language. Keeping that in mind, director Saket Chaudhary, who helmed the first instalment, has been replaced by Homi Adajania who has directed films such as like Being Cyrus, Finding Fanny and Cocktail.”
Thus, not just the title of the film, but sentiments and feel of the film will be entirely new. The movie also replaced the old director, Saket Chaudhary with the new, Homi Adajania. The actress to be cast opposite Irrfan Khan is still under finalisation.
