Cancer is not simply a disease of the body; rather it is a manifestation of suppressed emotions,
trauma, and stress that we have held onto in our being for so long. Our bodies are living banks of
memory as we consciously hold memories in mind that are constructed of both, conscious and
unconscious incidence that is impacting our health. In my session, Heal from Within, I use Dear Self
letters to guide people through a transformation of healing that reconnects them with themselves
and allows for releasing the root emotional reasons, their health can be impacted.
Understanding Emotional Healing in Cancer Recovery
Emotional healing from cancer Healing from cancer, or healing self, is not about the eradication of
cancer cells, nor is this a healing practice. Rather it is about creating an internal environment for the
body to heal itself. Our immune system is intertwined with our emotions, if we have embodied
negativity for extended years, we experience the impact only in our own bodies, thus stress causes
chronic disease Once we begin to understand the emotional roots that originally contributed to the
illness, it is becoming more manageable to support our body’s own internal healing processes.
Revisiting and Releasing Past Trauma
Revisiting and Releasing our Past Trauma Many of us are also victims of our own unconscious
carrying of some past trauma, ie; Trauma from child development, trauma from relationships, grief,
fears etc. If these experiences live in us, and we forward experience may manifest as hornets,
traumatic stress, fatigue or even as a disease as horrible as cancer. I seek to support people through
turns of guided self-reflection that allows clients to recollect recollections of past experiences that
create those stored memories. Clients are then able to release this boulder/weight of traumatic
experience together at a conscious/or unconscious level.
The Power of Forgiveness and Emotional Freedom
One of the central practices in our session is the practice of forgiveness. When we are living under a
burden of resentment and guilt and anger, there is an internal state of stress and inflammation that
is existing inside of us. The process of healing begins with the practice of letting go of these feelings
and the burden of emotion they carry–forgiving others and most importantly for forgiving ourselves
creates an internal shift, and allows for the restoring of peace and relief directly from the body,
physically.
