Janhvi Kapoor’s ‘Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl’ is set to premiere on Netflix, soon!
With the release date still unknown, the movie is a biopic based on the life of Indian Air Force pilot Gunjan Saxena. She is the first Indian woman fighter pilot to venture into a war zone. She flew the Cheetah helicopter to rescue soldiers during the Kargil War in 1999 and was honoured with the Shaurya Vir award for displaying courage and grit during the war.
Produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and directed by Sharan Sharma, ‘Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl’ also features Pankaj Tripathi and Angad Bedi in supporting roles of Gunjan’s father and brother, respectively. Owing to the nationwide lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic, the movie is heading for a digital release.
Along with a new movie poster showcasing Janhvi Kapoor as the pilot, the teaser of the journey of Gunjan Saxena is out. The actress narrates her real story with an introduction to her character in the film. An inspiring, fearless and true story of a woman who showed unparalleled courage, determination to push beyond her boundaries that made history.
