Indonesia open 2019 broke hearts of Indian fans, as the ace shuttler PV Sindhu lost the match on Sunday, thereby losing the opportunity of winning her first title of this year. This was her fifth loss in the fifteenth meet with Akane Yamaguchi of Japan. Though Sindhu has made a very impressive start to the tournament, her last game in Indonesia Open 2019 became Yamaguchi dominated match.
The first game was a close affair with the two players fighting neck to neck. The Hyderabadi shuttler took three consecutive points against Yamaguchi and went into the first game interval with an 11-8 lead.
Yamaguchi then fought back and the game was level until 14-14. She eventually extended the streak to nine straight points and won the game 21-15, in 21 minutes. The Japanese player never took her foot off the pedal and the second round became a one-sided game, making Sindhu settle for the silver medal.
PV Sindhu will next be seen at the Japan Open, 23-28 July, and Thailand Open in August this year.
