Her feature story in the Dirty Magazine turned eyeballs as six of the biggest names in the fashion industry designed outfits for the internet sensation, which includes Rahul Misra, Anita Shroff Adajania, Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla.
Life has come full circle for Uorfi Javed. From being a muse for Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla to featuring in a stunning personalised photoshoot wearing their custom outfits during the finale of her Prime Video show ‘Follow Karlo Yaar’, she has come a long way!
During the last episode, Sandeep Khosla and Uorfi Javed sat down for a hearty conversation, where the fashion maverick reminisced about how Abu and he discovered her. He said, “It was fantastic. Here’s a girl who’s got guts, who wears whatever she wants. And the fact that people thought it was funny, tacky but for Abu (Jani) and me it was ‘how original.’”
Sandeep Khosla was shocked to know that all of Javed’s iconic fashion looks were tailored at home. During one of the testimonials, he said, “Her character fascinated me. It’s always good to see people who are self-made.” In the episode, Sandeep also said that Javed has a great story to tell. He added, “If she has a nice story to tell, the world needs to hear a story.”
Uorfi talked about how the two were the first people who dressed her and acted as a fashion mentor for her. Sandeep also said, “You’ve been one of the most generous people we ever worked with.”
In an Instagram post on the official Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla handle, they uploaded the pictures from the episode, where Uorfi embodied a queen. Abu Sandeep appreciated her unconventional spirit and self-made journey, writing, “After all the only thing better than glamour is glamour with guts.”
