The global superstar, Deepika Padukone has been winning many accolades be it in the Bollywood industry or on the world platform and there is no stopping to her.
Last year, Deepika had given us a sneak-peak into the making of her wax statue in Madame Tussauds museum when she flew down to London to work with the artists working on her statue. She has written, ‘It’s all about the details.’
Deepika was in London, with husband Ranveer Singh and family to unveil her prestigious Statue of Purpose at Madame Tussauds. Commenting upon the feeling of getting her statue at an iconic museum she said, ‘It’s an amazing feeling, to be honest. It’s fun and exciting. And in a way, I think I feel a lot of gratitude as well when you give back to your fans….’ The wax statue is based on her look for the IIFA Awards 2016 when she wore a Sabyasachi Mukherjee creation, a champagne- coloured caped couture on the red carpet.
She dedicated her statue to her foundation, Live Love Laugh, towards mental health and believes as she stands for her foundation, her statue too will communicate the same. She wrote, ‘I’d like for my fans come to see the figure, I hope that reminds them of some who did something for the cause of mental health, wo worked towards creating awareness and de-stigmatise mental illness and I hope that it gives people a sense of upliftment and a sense of hope.’
Deepika made sure her fans were getting a closer view of the event and thus went live from her social media while she surprised some fans and unveiled her statue to the world. Ranveer Singh was seen mesmerized with his wife’s beautiful statue and wanted to take it home. While, Deepika’s family happily posed with her wax statue.
Madame Tussauds London has wax figures of Bollywood personalities like Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, Varun Dhawan, Madhuri Dixit, Anil Kapoor and others. Deepika’s wax statue is on display with personalities like Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Virat Kohli, Asha Bhosle and others.
