Cricket is a sport that leaves an imprint on the mind of crowds and has even turned into a religion in few countries.
Today, it is the birthday of few cricketers who have left a mark in the record books of the game. Setting such a high scale, they’ll always be remembered for their sportsmanship.
1. Chris Harris
The left hand batsman and right medium bowler, Chris Harris celebrates his birthday, turning closer to half century.
The New Zealand all-rounder played for his country for 14 years, creating records one after another. Chris played 273 international matches where he scored 5156 and uprooted 219 wickets.
Not only this, Harris was the first player from his country to play 250 ODIs and is still the third highest ODI wicket-taker from New Zealand.
2. Nathan Lyon
From humble groundsman to becoming one of Australia’s greatest spinner, Nathan Lyon has beaten the odds.
The cricketer turns a year older but has written his name in the history of cricket. At 32, Lyon shows no sign of slowing down and is still one of the first picks by the country’s cricket board.
Making his international debut in Test cricket in 2011, Lyon has played 91 matches. With 363 wickets under name, his best spell is mind boggling. He took eight wickets by giving only 50 runs.
3. Dion Nash
The captain of the New Zealand, Dion Nash is 47 and celebrates his birthday by remembering his outspells. Playing for his national side for a little time but Nash left a long void in the team.
The fast bowler is the first player to claim ten wickets and score half century in a Test at Lord’s, London. In 32 matches, Nash has bowled 93 wickets. A key to his team, he said goodbye to the game really soon!
Happy Birthday Nathan Lyon, Chris Harris and Dion Nash!
