Chef Garima Arora Returns Home with Bangkok — in Partnership with Impresario Entertainment & Hospitality Pvt Ltd.
Sawasdee, Mumbai! BANNG has rolled in from Bangkok (with a pit stop in Gurugram) and parked itself right in the heart of Bandra — ready to turn the city’s dining scene into a full-blown sanuk (good-time) affair. This is not just another restaurant; it’s a flavour-charged, high-energy creation of Two-Michelin-starred Chef Garima Arora and restaurateur Riyaaz Amlani, whose track record for shaping Mumbai’s most exciting dining and nightlife spots is as long as a Bangkok night market.
At BANNG, a casual dining room and bar, they’ve bottled up the city’s unapologetic Thai spirit and poured it into every corner — from bold, high-octane plates to cocktails that hum with Bangkok’s street swagger, all set in a space that shifts with your mood.
For Chef Garima, BANNG marks a creative shift — stepping away from the world of fine dining to explore a bold, high-energy restaurant rooted in flavour and fun. This association pairs her culinary prowess with Riyaaz’s vision for vibrant, culture-driven dining destinations.
Chef Garima Arora shares, “Mumbai is where my journey began, so bringing BANNG here is deeply personal, a homecoming in the truest sense. The city is electric, layered, and endlessly inspiring, just like Bangkok. With BANNG, Riyaaz and I hope to create a space that brings the vibrancy of Thai culture, the depth of the country’s culinary heritage, and my own creative lens together in a way that speaks to Mumbai’s energy and openness.”
Echoing her sentiment, Riyaaz Amlani, Founder and Managing Director of Impresario Entertainment & Hospitality Pvt Ltd, adds, “Mumbai is an ever-evolving city with a dynamic appetite for global experiences. In many ways, it mirrors Bangkok, two vibrant cities with their own unique energies, but at the same time, so much in common when it comes to culture, flavours, and innovation. BANNG brings Bangkok’s bold food and drink culture to Mumbai’s doorstep, from Chef Garima Arora’s mastery of Thai cuisine to Attapon De-Silva’s inventive cocktail program. Every aspect of this space, from the flavours to the interiors, has been crafted to honour both cities. We’re excited to offer Mumbai a taste of Bangkok’s spirit of being bold and unapologetically exciting.”
Split across two floors, BANNG offers two distinct experiences. Upstairs at BANNG Dining Room, the pace slows for kin khao (to eat) Thai-style — family-style plates designed for sharing, conversation, and lingering over the table. Executive Chef Manav Khanna, who trained under Garima at Gaa in Bangkok, brings the same fire-forward techniques, fresh curry pastes, and ingredients flown in weekly from Thailand to a menu that celebrates every corner of the country’s culinary map.
From the herb-filled North to the spice-driven South, the dishes capture Thailand’s rich diversity while adding playful twists. Think Tom Kha Pani Puri, crisp puris filled with chilled coconut broth soup, herbs, and white oyster mushrooms; Avocado Som Tum, a vibrant Thai avocado salad with fruits and toasted peanuts; Tomatoes on Vine in a creamy tomato and tamarind candy glaze with Tom Yum sauce; The OG Banng’ing Thai Omelet with Chinese celery and a sweet-sour-spicy dressing; and the aromatic White Curry (Gaeng Khao) with grilled tomatoes. Desserts are just aroi mak (delicious) with the Lod Chong Bingsu — milk snow topped with whipped coconut cream, pandan noodles, and sweet coconut sauce, Mango Sticky Rice, Sago Nom Sod – chilled caramelized milk with tapioca pearls, grass jelly and boba.

Downstairs, the vibe shifts from sabai sabai (relaxed) dining to full-throttle Bangkok nightlife at BANNG Bar, where the lights dim, the music hums, and the cocktails take centre stage — backed by a menu of fun, playful, inventive bar bites to complement the cocktails. Behind the bar program is Bangkok’s own Attapon De-Silva aka “The Potion Master”— one of Asia’s most celebrated bartenders, who’s made waves with the award-winning Teens of Thailand bar (listed on Asia’s 50 Best Bars), Asia Today, Tax, Independence and is now shaking up Mumbai’s cocktail scene.
His menu is split into three moods — Fresh & Fizzy, Moody & Boozy, and Umami & Yummy — because, in Bangkok, your night never has just one flavour. Highlights include The White Lotus Martini with gin, white turmeric-infused Lillet Blanc, and garlic brine; Yellow, a sunshine-bright mix of white rum, yellow curry, and ginger flower nectar; and The Andaman, or “sea in a glass,” made with dry squid-infused vodka, guava, Nam Prik Nam Pla, coconut vinegar, and squid ink.
Zero-proof creations like the Kung Fu Pandan — pandan, makrut lime, cucumber, coconut jelly, fizz — prove that Bangkok’s fun doesn’t always have to come with a buzz. These are paired with bar bites like Pattaya Nachos with crispy wontons and spicy avocado, Kanom Buang Waffles, a DIY pulled jackfruit salad with coconut dressing, late-night BANNG Cup Noodles, gooey cheese-and-ham Cigar Rolls (a nod to Thailand’s 7/11 sandwiches), and crispy BANNG-style Crab Cakes with tangy plum sauce — plus a taste of Bangkok’s legendary skewer culture at the Ping Bar, where street-style grilling meets cocktail-hour indulgence. And for the truly curious, there’s Sabai 7/11 Chaknas — authentic Thai packaged snacks straight from Bangkok’s convenience stores, perfect to grab-and-go or to keep you company with your cocktails.
Nestled in the heart of Bandra, BANNG’s design is a tale of two moods, brought to life by Studio RENESA under Principal Architect Sanchit Arora. The top floor is an immersive, theatrical world — all deep reds, bold textures, origami-inspired lighting, and sculptural installations — blending the flamboyance of Bangkok’s nightlife with playful Indian artistry. It’s dramatic, layered, and perfect for long, indulgent meals.
The ground floor, in contrast, is a minimalist, terracotta-toned Thai street bar — a hawker-style escape with artisanal metal details, muted lighting, and street-style hawker murals that keep the energy warm and easy. Together, the two levels guide guests on a journey from slow, intimate dining to high-energy, cocktail-fuelled nights — bridging two cities, two cultures, and two ways of having a very, very good time.
Get ready to Bangkok your taste buds—spicy bites, wild sips, and enough fun to make Khao San Road jealous. BANNG’s calling… are you brave enough to answer?
