Travelling is great for your mental and physical health, which is why every now and then, you should indulge ourselves on a nice vacation. Whether you wish to travel alone or with friends and family, Hong Kong is an excellent place for you. And best of all, you don’t even need to go through the tedious process of Hong Kong visa requirements if you’re an Indian citizen.
1. Different Cuisines
We all love food, and one of the greatest things about travelling is getting away from the food we eat back at home. Apart from providing satisfaction to our gustatory senses, food helps us to learn about the culture of a new place. Hong Kong is unique for having a variety of cuisines that are indigenous to not only Hong Kong itself but to China, India, Japanese, and even Europe. Since Hong Kong is known as the ‘World’s Food Fair’ you mustn’t miss a chance to try some renowned dishes like sweet and sour pork, wontons, roast goose, Phoenix Talons, snake soup and the Hong Kong styled custard.
2. Cable Cars
Have you ever ridden in a cable car? If you haven’t, then you’re missing out on a whole different level of fun. A cable car basically is a box-like container, for two or more passengers, that takes you from one place to another via a rope pathway. The great thing about cable cars is that you get to travel from a great height and relish the fantastic panorama that Hong Kong has to offer. Some interesting things you can view are the lush greenery, mountainous terrain, and the Big Buddha. Hong Kong is known to have a safe cable car pathway because it’s made of two ropes.
3. Explore the Islands
You may be surprised to hear this, but Hong Kong comprises 263 islands. The largest of these islands is the Lantau island and the most densely populated island is Ap Lei Chau. You can easily travel to some of these islands with the help of cable cars or by boat. Though Hong Kong itself is a city bustling with so much life, you will be amazed to see how tranquil and calm life is on islands like the Lamma island and the Cheung Chau island. Moreover, each island has something different and unique to offer tourists; we know you can’t travel to them all but make sure to visit the most famous ones during your trip.
4. Go Shopping
Everyone would know that Hong Kong is a mecca for all shoppers. There is so much to buy and best of all, everything is tax-free. This is probably what attracts shoppers the most. The best goods you can shop for in Hong Kong are clothes, cosmetics and electrical appliances. Did you also know that there are two big sale seasons in Hong Kong? They occur in winter and summer. If you wish to take home a souvenir, you can find some nice ones in any street market. Furthermore, you can negotiate the price of certain goods which is terrific.
