To all the Indians who are stranded in different parts of the world due to the lockdowns, the Government of India has taken a huge step to bring them back to the nation starting from today under Vande Bharat evacuation operations.
The discussion of the same has been going on for a while and External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar has shared the information regarding it on his social media page where he wrote, “Commenced preparations for Vande Bharat Mission. Planning underway for stranded Indian nationals to return home starting 7th May. Urge them to keep in regular touch with their Embassies.”

Under the evacuation program in coordination with Air India, 14,800 stranded Indians will be brought back from 12 countries. The special flights will run from New Delhi, Kozhikode, Kochi, Mumbai and other major airports of the country to Abu Dhabi, Singapore, Dubai and more.
On the first day of the evacuation operation, 2,300 passengers will be reaching back to India post which they will go through medical tests. The detailed schedule of flight has been released by the Press Information Bureau on its social media page.
