USA clinched the trophy for the fourth time in the FIFA Women’s World Cup, at Lyon, France, this Sunday. Under the captains, Alex Morgan and Megan Rapinoe, USA, made its way to the top by beating each team in a historical way.
They began with a tournament-record of 13-0 defeat of Thailand. Scoring early in each match and withstanding everything their opponents had to throw at them. The USA defeated its world-class competitors like Spain, France and England. The US Women’s National Team lived up to their reputation, beating the Netherlands by 2-0 in its final match, thanks to outstanding performances from Rapinoe and Rose Lavelle.
FIFA Women’s World Cup began on 7 June, in France. A month-long tournament became more famous as Rapinoe openly criticised US President, Donald Trump. Pay disparity was also a topic, for which the US team fought throughout the tournament. The Whole stadium chanted Equal Pay as the team lifted the Cup for the second time in four years.

At this point we shouldn’t even be asking for #EqualPay for the #USWMNT – we should demand they be paid at least twice as much 😉 https://t.co/VXITg24UB3
