Pancham Nishad presents “Tuka Mhane Kahe Kabira” — a one-of-a-kind morning of devotional and spiritual music that celebrates the timeless philosophies of Sant Tukaram and Sant Kabir. The concert will be held on Sunday, 8th February 2026, 10:00 am onwards, at Yashwantrao Chavan Natyagruh, Kothrud, Pune.
Though separated by centuries, regions, and languages, Sant Tukaram and Sant Kabir remain united in spirit — one rooted in devotion to Lord Vithoba’s (Saguna Bhakti), the other immersed in the formless divine (Nirguna Bhakti). Tukaram’s Abhangas express everyday devotion and surrender, while Kabir’s verses reveal piercing truths about life and the self with disarming simplicity. Despite their humble origins — Tukaram as a trader, Kabir as a weaver — both transformed ordinary life into a path to the divine.
“In this unique musical dialogue, renowned vocalists Anand Bhate and Bhuvanesh Komkali come together to create a transcendent experience. Anand Bhate will present the soulful Abhangwani of Sant Tukaram Maharaj, while Bhuvanesh Komkali will render the profound Kabirwani. Together, they will weave these two timeless voices into a single, mesmerizing conversation through music.”
Guiding the audience through the philosophical essence of both saints will be Dr. Dhanashree Lele, offering insightful narration in Marathi and Hindi. The ensemble also features accomplished co-artistes —Mandar Puranik (Tabla), Dnyaneshwar Sonawane (Harmonium), Sukhad Munde (Pakhwaj), Sunil Avchat (Flute), and Suryakant Surve on (Additional Rhythms).
Vocalist Anand Bhate says, “Abhangas of Sant Tukaram Maharaj have a directness that touches everyone, regardless of background. Their strength lies in their honesty and simplicity, which is why they continue to resonate with audiences even today. They remind us that devotion is not about distance from God, but about closeness and conversation with Him.”
Vocalist Bhuvanesh Komkali said, “Kabir’s poetry exposes truth with fearless clarity. His words challenge, awaken, and liberate. To present Kabirwani on such a stage is both a responsibility and a joy.”
Shashi Vyas, Founder-Director of Pancham Nishad, shared:
“Kabir and Tukaram may differ in language, geography, and bhakti traditions, but their core message is one — the eternal search for truth. Through ‘Tuka Mhane Kahe Kabira,’ we aim to weave their voices into a single musical dialogue, interspersed with scholarly narration by Dr. Dhanashree Lele.”
