We’re thrilled to present House of Ara’s A/W 24 collection. This luxury line combines exquisite craftsmanship with a fusion of western and traditional styles. With its elegant design and commitment to timeless beauty, the Kantha collection redefines Indian fashion, offering pieces meant to be cherished for years.
Kantha
Originating from the ancient Sanskrit word ‘kantha,’ which translates to ‘rags,’ this rich textile tradition beautifully showcases the transformative power of the simple running stitch on handwoven cotton. The kantha embroidery tells enchanting tales of nature, folklore, and mythology through layers of delicate motifs.
Ajrakh
Ajrakh, an artistic legacy dating back to the Indus Civilization, showcases an intricate and enduring handcrafted block-printing technique. This process involves using naturally extracted colors from a diverse palette, such as red from dried dhavdi flowers, blue from indigo, yellow from turmeric, and black from iron shavings, millet flour, and molasses, with ground tamarind seeds to thicken the dye. Traditional wooden blocks are still employed, a skill passed down through generations.
Leheria
Leheria, a traditional tie-dye technique originating from Rajasthan, India, yields vibrantly colored fabrics with unique patterns. Our new collection at House of Ara embraces sustainability as a guiding principle, both in nature and art. By blending classic elements with modern flair, we draw inspiration from India’s rich heritage while infusing contemporary art, creating designs with global appeal.
