CHINAR
Through Time, Through Seasons, Through the Lens
by
MEGHA SINDWANI
Through Time, Through Seasons, Through the Lens is not just an exhibition. It is a meditation on a land that exists in contrasts, where beauty and resilience walk hand in hand. At the heart of this collection stands the Chinar, Kashmir’s silent witness, watching as seasons shift and generations pass. Much like the land itself, the Chinar is both steadfast and poetic, shedding its leaves only to be reborn. Through Megha’s lens, the tree becomes more than just a symbol of Kashmir’s landscape; it transforms into an echo of its spirit. Each image in this collection, whether of still water, cloud-laden peaks or weathered hands, tells a story of endurance, impermanence and the quiet power of simply existing.
Chinar is not just about photography or even about Kashmir. It is about seeing differently. It is about realizing that art is not confined to galleries and books but is woven into the fabric of life itself. Some stories are best told in words, others in images. The most powerful ones do not need to be told at all. They only need to be seen.
A portion of the proceeds from this exhibition will support Foster & Forge Foundation that believes education is about perspective as much as knowledge. This collaborative effort ensures that underserved children experience art, not just see it. Megha bridges artistic expression with action, proving photography can change the world.

About Megha Sindwani
Megha Sindwani does not follow the conventions of photography. She does not wait for the perfect shot, nor does she chase technical precision. Instead, she allows the world to reveal itself, capturing moments that are as unguarded as they are profound. Her work is not about spectacle but about presence, about noticing the unnoticed and finding meaning in the seemingly ordinary.
Born and raised in Delhi, Megha sees photography not as a craft to be mastered but as a conversation to be had. Her lens moves instinctively, framing a fleeting glance, a shifting shadow or the way light clings to a surface before it is lost forever. Whether it is a weathered face on Dal Lake, a withered Chinar leaf caught between flight and surrender or the quiet defiance of a mountain against the sky, her images do not simply document a place. They capture how it feels to be there.
She does not seek to create images that are merely beautiful. Her work lingers, drawing you in, revealing new layers with every viewing. Some photographers show you what is there. Megha makes you see what has been overlooked all along.
