With his chiseled body and perfect jawline, Sidharth Malhotra, wooed his way into Bollywood with Karan Johar’s Student Of The Year along with Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan in the year 2012. The Bollywood hottie turns 34 today and he rang into his birthday with a birthday-bash thrown for his film-fraternity in his apartment in Mumbai.
Although Sid started his career as a model at a young age of 18 and soon ventured into directing and went on to become an assistant director for the film My Name Is Khan in 2010 with director Karan Johar, and that is how Johar picked the lad for his teen drama film SOTY for which he received a Filmfare Award for Best Debut nomination.
Seven years since his debut, Sid has come a long way with as many as 9 films in his kitty. His movies ranged from romantic comedy, thriller, murder mystery to sports drama showing his keen interest in differed choices for his role, he says that his films clearly show his greed for good content. He said, ‘this is the period where I am hungry for content more than the money aspect of what I would get from a film. If your filmography is interesting and has enough variations and you are not trying to sell something typical, whether it does well or not is secondary, what matters is exploring new things.’
According to Sidharth he always wanted to explore new things in his career and is happy with the way his journey in films has turned out be. ‘I have never done films for money, brands of course (is for money). I have never buckled with a producer or director for a film. I did films because I wanted to be part of a film. I have never made an issue of what I get paid as an actor. For me it depends on the budget of the film, you want to be more sensitive as well to the producer, it is a business after all,’ Sidharth added.
