India’s journey in ICC 2019 World Cup, ended yesterday. Despite putting up a tremendous fight against New Zealand, Men in Blue lost the match by 18 runs in the semi-finals. Though team India had a shaky start, Ravindra Jadeja and MS Dhoni took the score closer to the target, but couldn’t pull it off. Semi-final match, that went on for two days, due to bad weather conditions, shattered a million dreams.
Fans and followers from across the globe showed their support to team India, even after the loss. This was the third time in succession, that team India reached for semi-finals. Bollywood celebrities took it to social media platforms and expressed their disappointment and praise Indian cricket team’s fighting spirit.
Aamir khan stated, ‘Hard luck Virat. Just wasn’t our day today. For me, India had already won the world cup when we qualified for the semis at the top of the list as the no 1 team. Well played guys, throughout the tournament. I just wish it hadn’t rained yesterday… the result might have been different. But well done. Proud of our team. Love. A’
PM Modi also praised Indian Cricket Team for their effort, sending the best wishes for their future endeavours.
A disappointing result, but good to see #TeamIndia’s fighting spirit till the very end.
India batted, bowled, fielded well throughout the tournament, of which we are very proud.
