Little over a year of release of the first season of Sacred Games, finally Netflix tweeted, ‘Calendar nikalo bhaiyo aur behno. #SacredGames2 ka release date ayela hai!’ They have also confirmed that the show will premiere on 15 August.
The first look of the show was out this year showing the main leads, Sartaj Singh (played by Saif Ali Khan) and Ganesh Gaitonde (played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui). The teaser introduced new characters, Pankaj Tripathi as Guruji, Ranveer Shorey as Shahid Khan and Kalki Koechlin as Batya Abelman, who will play a key part in the series.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui shared the poster of the show with the caption, ‘Pichli baar kya bola tha Ganesh bhai ko? Aukaaat…!!!’
The co-director of the show, Anurag Kashyap also shared the poster and wrote, ‘The wait is over. Sacred Games 2 out on aug 15th https://youtu.be/w-Xe8gLBc5I @netflix_in link in bio too.’
The new add on to the show, Kalki Koechlin shared the same post writing, ‘Sometimes you play and sometimes you get played. Sacred Games 2 premieres 15 August, only on Netflix.’
Kubra Sait who played the role of Cuckoo in the first season, also posted on her social media, saying, ‘पूछ मत – अब देख! यह है बड़ा धमाका। @sacredgames_tv on @netflix_in on the 15th of AUGUST 2019.’
The action drama promises to be bigger and better than its previous instalment and is shot majorly in Kenya, Cape Town and Johannesburg.
Directed by Vikramaditya Motwane and Anurag Kashyap, who produced it under their banner Phantom Films.
