Netflix, has announced five new originals from India across genres. Take a look:
The director of ‘Lipstick under my Burkha’, Alankrita Shrivastava has created, written and directed ‘Bombay Begums’. The story follows the varied journeys of five women who bond in the contemporary urban India.
Anushka Sharma’s Clean Slate Films presents, ‘Mai’, the story of a 40-plus docile wife and mother who finds herself captured in a world of politics and violence which follows a personal tragedy.
‘Betaal’ is about a 200-year-old British Indian Army officer and his battalion of zombie soldiers, who are pitted against the Indian police. The director of Netflix Original, ‘Ghoul’, Patrick Graham is the showrunner, writer and co-director along with Nikhil Mahajan. Shah Rukh Khan’s, ‘Red Chillies Entertainment’ are the producers of this series.
Ravi Patel has created, ‘Messy’ in which he stars as well. This series is based on an emerging stand-up comic who struggles to balance a career in comedy along with a day job and a demanding family.
‘Masaba Masaba’, is a scripted series based on the real lives of fashion designers, Masaba Gupta and veteran actress, Neena Gupta. The mother-daughter duo will feature in the series, playing themselves. The director of ‘The Trip’, Sonam Nair will direct this series.
