2019 seems to be in favour of Zoya as she is already basking in the glory of her superhit blockbuster ‘Gully Boy’ starring Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhat and Sidhant Chaturvedi and post that her web series, a Prime Video original, Made In Heaven, shattered several records of online viewing across the globe.
The nine-episode-long season reflects the lives of upscale modern India and how chauvinism is hidden deep in their so-called modern and progressive selves, narrated through the eyes of two wedding planners, Tara Khanna and Karan Mehra. The show has been lauded for its sensitive portrayal of gay characters and also for exploring the topics of class and gender, that is shown very rare in the entertainment business.
Zoya has now announced that she had started working on the second season’s script via her Instagram post, with a picture of a typewriter she wrote, ‘Back To Work.’ Known for bringing out impactful characters and creating the narrative of the contemporary films, Zoya is new-age filmmaker.
Premiered on 8th March 2019, on Amazon Prime, Made In Heaven starred Arjun Mathur, Sobhita Dhulipala, Kalki Koechlin, Jim Sarbh, Shashank Arora and Shivani Raghuvanshi in the lead roles. While many of our favourite actors too make cameo appearances, including Neena Gupta, Shweta Tripathi and Manjot Singh.
