After a long wait, Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro have launched in India!

Available on Amazon India and Mi.com, Redmi Note 8 Pro features Helio G90T SoC, quad camera setup with a 64 megapixel main camera, 4,500mAh battery and a 20 megapixel front sensor.

 

Starting from the design, Redmi Note 8 Pro has a quad rear camera setup on the top center, aligned vertically. The fingerprint sensor is underneath the three cameras on the phone’s back side and the fourth sensor is below the flash.

 

The dual SIM smartphone runs on Android Pie based MIUI 10, packs a 6.53 inch full HD plus screen and is powered by MediaTek’s new gaming focussed SoC, paired with up to 8GB RAM. It has a liquid cooling support, to improve the gaming experience for users. Redmi Note 8 Pro can go all the way to ultra-settings while playing PUBG Mobile. Users will be able to play ‘Call of Duty: Mobile’ on “very high” settings.

 

The Redmi Note 8 Pro will feature Wi-Fi X antenna which promises a more stable wireless connection. While playing games, the phone will be able to maintain a stable Wi-Fi connection no matter how a user is holding the smartphone.

 

The smartphone is the company’s first phone with a 64 megapixel main camera. The main shooter is joined by an 8 megapixel wide-angle shooter and two 2 megapixel cameras. On the front, there is a 20-megapixel selfie camera on board.

 

It supports 18W fast charging, NFC, USB Type-C port, 3.5mm audio jack, IR blast and is IP52 certified. Also, the smartphone is the first device to have Amazon’s Alexa built-in.

 

Coming to pricing, for 6 GB RAM and 64GB storage variant, it’ll be Rs. 14, 999. 6GB RAM, 128GB storage variant will cost Rs. 15,999 and 8GB RAM, 128GB storage variant will cost Rs. 17,999.

On the other hand, Redmi Note 8 features a quad-camera setup at the rear. It comes with a 48 megapixel primary camera sensor, eight megapixel ultra-wide camera lens, two megapixel depth sensor, 13 megapixel selfie camera and a macro lens.

 

For the display, the smartphone features a 90 percent screen-to-body ratio on a 6.3-inch full HD display with TUV certified reading mode and offers a brightness of 450 nits. Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC, it has 6GB RAM with 128GB storage option. Redmi Note 8 has a dedicated microSD card slot, with support for up to 512GB of storage and 4,000mAh battery supported by 18W fast charging support.

 

Offering a durable build quality, the smartphone is splash resistant and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 at the front and the rear. Also, it includes an IR blaster, a Type-C charging port and a 3.5mm headphone jack. As for acoustics, the smartphone promises a loud and improved sound quality. The auto-cleaning speaker on the Redmi Note 8 can purge dust from the speaker cavity automatically.

 

The Xiaomi’s phone features an ‘Aura Fluid Design’. It’ll be available in Neptune Blue with an S-curve holographic design at the rear and in Moonlight White, it’ll have a new nanostructure optical diffraction. The phone will also be available in Cosmic Purple and Space Black colours.

 

For pricing, Redmi Note 8 will cost Rs. 9,999 for the 4GB RAM, 64GB storage and Rs. 12,999 for the 6GB RAM, 128GB storage.
