Vijay Deverakonda’s upcoming film ‘Dear Comrade’ will now be remade in Hindi under filmmaker Karan Johar. KJo saw the Bharat Kamma-directed Telugu film, also featuring Rashmika Mandanna, in a special screening prior to its release.
Karan complimented the stars by sharing a post on his Instagram account, writing, “Had the pleasure to be the first to see #dearcomrade! What a powerful and intense love story!!! Top notch performances by @thedeverakonda and @rashmika_mandanna!! The film is exceptionally moving and leaves you with such an important and relevant message! Strongly directed by debut director @bharatkamma and wonderfully produced by @mythriofficial !! Exceptional music by #justinprabhakaran Glad to ANNOUNCE that @dharmamovies will be producing the Hindi remake of #dearcomrade !! Super excited about this!!!”
Deverakonda, too, posted a picture on his social media, captioned, “So proud to have this man, watch, love and be the one to remake our baby #DearComrade in Hindi. Team Dear Comrade ✊🏼 Comrade @karanjohar ❤ biggest hugs, love and respect for you. Can’t wait to do something mad with you and @dharmamovies #DearComradeOnJuly26th”
Also, the producers of the film have also officially announced about the Hindi remake of ‘Dear Comrade’ on their social media, saying, “Mythri Movie Makers & Bigben Cinemas are so very proud and excited to have the prestigious @dharmamovies buy the remake rights of #DearComrade. As producers we lookupto and have great respect for @karanjohar sir and we are so proud of our young team who touched our hearts and his with this very special film and made this collaboration happen✊”
This is Vijay’s second movie to be remade in Hindi after ‘Arjun Reddy’ which was titled as ‘Kabir Singh’. Featuring Shahid Kapoor in the titular role along with Kiara Advani, it is the biggest Bollywood hit of 2019 till date.
The cast and director of ‘Dear Comrade’ for the Hindi version is yet to be revealed. In the meantime, the Vijay starrer movie will hit the screens on 26 July.
