Sachin Tendulkar wrote an open letter, addressing the fellow men during the ongoing International Men’s Week.
In two paragraphs, he penned the heartfelt letter to the “men of today and tomorrow”. The ‘master blaster’ deconstructed stereotypes around masculinity and admitted that certain beliefs he grew up with need to change today.
With a lot of appreciation and positive comments on the post, Sachin specified the reason of him writing this letter down. He stated that when he was growing up, he believed that crying is a weakness sign but he’s realised that it’s notf.
Recalling his last day of playing cricket for India at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, he said the toughest goodbye. Sachin concluded by asking all men to move past stereotypes of what men can and cannot do, saying that there is no shame in showing tears.
Take a look at Sachin’s letter:
Meanwhile, the ‘Captain Cool’ MS Dhoni is missing from action from the past four months. An inspiration to millions, we definitely miss him on the cricket ground.
But wait, looks like we are not the only ones missing him. The run machine, Virat Kohli is also missing his senior teammate. The Indian skipper has never denied that for him Dhoni will always be his captain.
Virat shared a picture with Dhoni on social media that went viral among the netizens. He wrote, “Partners in crime. Crime: stealing doubles from fielders at the boundary 😃. Guess who”.
Can’t wait to see this duo take the game by storm once again!
