Florence is a city where art, culture, and history linger in the light, in the stones, and in the air. The lights turn every street corner into a stage, building facades wear centuries of history, and the ateliers tucked behind stone arches remind us that true artistry is never rushed. In the birthplace of the Renaissance lies Sarah & Sandeep’s latest inspiration and newest creative expression: The Sartorial Suit Line’ 26.
The designers approached the place not as a postcard but as a living canvas and drew inspiration from the art deco ironwork for their clean lines, patterns, and cuts. Stepping into the conversation, Sarah and Sandeep enhance the cultural dialogue of Florence by building the bridge between past and present, tradition and modernity, and classic form and evolving function through their recent collection. Just as Art Deco once redefined geometry, elegance, and movement, this collection is crafted and catered for guests who adore a contemporary tonality.
“Sartorial Suit Line ’26 represents an Indo-European dialogue in design, where the artistry of Indian craftsmanship converges with the serenity of European modernity. In my view, this is the future of sartorial suiting: natural fibres that breathe with ease, Art Deco-inspired design detailing, and intricate construction that reflects the highest order of craftsmanship. By working with exceptional textiles such as cashmere, bamboo and wool-silk-linen fibres, we have shaped a collection that stands at the intersection of timeless sophistication and contemporary sensibilities — a vision we brought to life while shooting our campaign in beautiful hills of Tuscany.” – Sandeep Gonsalves
In a city where one strolls from a Renaissance palazzo to a contemporary gallery in a single afternoon, these suits are designed to accompany that movement through breathable textiles. The fabrics used within the collection speak volumes; while bamboo keeps things light, cashmere adds softness and luxury, corduroy maintains modern cuts and sharp lines, and seersucker withstands the summer humidity. The classics like worsted wool and wrinkle-resistant fresco are complemented by blends such as wool-silk-linen and cotton-silk-linen to balance sheen and practicality. Twelve looks complete the series to reflect Florence’s deep blues, bottle greens, and quiet burgundies. Be it the river Arno at dusk, weathered frescoes or polished marble floors the patterns, colours and textures are picked with the same care as a painter selects pigments and textures. Anchoring the line are the classic patterns like checks and houndstooth to ensure versatility across formal and semi-formal occasions while maintaining a modern, understated charm.
Sarah & Sandeep’s Florence chapter suggests that relevance lies in purposeful design inspired by Italian tailoring. The result is polished but natural, powerful yet understated- never loud and always intentional. Catered to men who firmly live in the present, his style is defined not by where he is, but by where he’s going—domestically in India or internationally. He chooses versatility, but never at the expense of refinement. Each suit he wears carries him seamlessly from Mumbai’s boardroom to Milan’s summer or a Florence gallery opening. The Sartorial Suit Line’26 is not just clothing but a companion for every city and season.
This collection will be available at the Sarah & Sandeep Flagship Atelier in Mumbai before it makes its way to select trunk shows across different cities.
