December 2025, Goa, India: ESCAPE, Goa’s newest cultural and creative landmark, hosted an exceptional evening on 3rd December 2025, celebrating the rich heritage, craftsmanship and timeless traditions of Uzbekistan. The event brought together eminent dignitaries, creative leaders and cultural ambassadors for an immersive showcase of Uzbek art, fabric and storytelling.
The celebration was graced by His Excellency Sardor Rustambaev, Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to India, accompanied by a distinguished Uzbek delegation. Their presence marked an important moment in strengthening the cultural relationship between India and Uzbekistan.
Also in attendance was Honorable Minister Rohan Khaunte, whose participation added prestige to the gathering and reflected Goa’s commitment to fostering international cultural exchange.
Speaking about the collaboration, His Excellency Sardor Rustambaev remarked, “Events like this strengthen the bond between our nations and highlight the beauty of Uzbekistan’s artistic legacy. We are delighted to see our culture celebrated at a space as inspiring as ESCAPE.”
The evening paid tribute to Uzbekistan’s evocative stories, iconic Ikat fabrics, intricate craftsmanship and vibrant spirit. Guests experienced a curated journey through the country’s artistic heritage, a celebration of culture brought to life through design, visuals and narrative.
ESCAPE also spotlighted the work of its founder, Ms. Ritu Beri, Cultural & Tourism Ambassador of Uzbekistan to India. In her remarks, she said, “Uzbekistan is a land of extraordinary beauty, craftsmanship and soul. It is an honour to represent its culture and tonight at ESCAPE reflects our shared belief in preserving and celebrating global heritage.”
The event reinforced ESCAPE’s vision of becoming a global cultural hub, a place where creativity, heritage and community unite. Through evenings like this, ESCAPE continues to redefine Goa’s cultural landscape, offering platforms that celebrate artistic excellence and international collaboration.
About Ritu Beri
Ritu Beri is a globally celebrated Indian fashion designer, known for her innovative designs and her ability to seamlessly blend tradition with modernity. She was the first Indian designer to present her collection at Paris Haute Couture Week in 1999 and also the first Asian to lead the French fashion house Scherrer in 2001. Over the years, she has collaborated with iconic global brands like Swarovski, L’Oréal, and FTV, and her work has been featured in prestigious publications like TIME magazine.
