Assam is reeling under a severe flood situation, with Brahmaputra water rising every day. It has affected 33 districts of the state and claimed 17 lives. More than 45 lakh people have been hit by the nature’s fury.
Many celebrities and politicians took it to their social media handle, to extend their support to the flood affected state. Indian Sprinter, Hima Das, who hails from Assam, has asked the nation to come forward and help Assam. She also has contributed her half salary, saying, ‘I have contributed my bit and requesting others also to please help people of Assam. #AssamFloods’.

Earlier, Rahul Gandhi, former President of Indian National Congress, also showed his support and asked the Congress workers to help Assam fight flood.

While the whole nation is supporting Assam, people are enraged at the silence of Priyanka Chopra Jonas. Actress is seen quite active on social media but has not spoken any word on the flood situations. Netizens took it to their social media condemning Priyanka’s ignorance.

Priyanka is the face of Assam Tourism since 2016. Her production house, Purple Pebble Pictures, also signed a contract with the department for promotional campaigns with the state.
