The 59-year-old, Fashion designer who was known to bring resort wear into the limelight, Wendell Rodricks passed away on Wednesday at his home in Goa.
Rodricks was known to give the fashion Industry the originality in western wears meanwhile advocating for eco-friendly fashion. He was honoured with Padma Shri in 2014 and had been a vocal activist of LGBTQ+ community.
The man was recently working on the opening of India’s first Costume Museum in a 450-year-old traditional Goan Villa in Colvale under the name ‘Moda Goa Museum’, about which he had also posted on his official social media handle.
As soon as the news about his sudden demise broke, film fraternity shared their condolences to the family and also took to their social media handle posting about their cherished memories while working along with Wendell.
Apart from Bollywood celebrities, Chief Minister of Goa Dr Pramod Sawant also mourned over the sad news. On his official twitter account, CM wrote, “Deeply shocked & saddened by the sudden demise of world renowned fashion designer & a niz Goenkar Padma Shri Wendell Rodricks. His exemplary work has left an indelible mark in the world of fashion.”

Union Textile and Women and Child Development Minister Smriti Irani also expressed her grief over the untimely demise of such a great designer and prayed for the family.
