Known for calling a spade a spade, Kangana Ranaut is the most outspoken and fearless lady in the industry. She is always making headlines for her outrageously honest comments; some even went far too long to make controversies (speaking of the whole nepotism issue here).
The controversial queen’s latest target was Alia Bhatt. Yes! Kangana took dig on Alia Bhatt and her work in Gully Boy which was very much praised by the audience and the critics. Recently a poll was taken for the best actress and Kangana beat Alia for her amazing work in Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. But looks like Kangana wasn’t too glad about the poll, she said, ‘I am embarrassed…What is there to beat in Gully Boy performance …. same snappy muh phat girl… Bollywood’s idea of a fiery girl, woman empowerment and good acting, spare me this embarrassment, please. Media has taken filmy kids love too far…stop pampering mediocre work or else bar will never be raised.’
Earlier she had even called Alia a puppet of Karan Johar who is a product of Nepotism who only know to give and take favours. The whole anger poured out because none of the actors had stood up for her during Manikarna and neither did anyone turn up for her film’s screening. The actress believes that people should not refrain from supporting women empowerment and nationalism.
Alia wasn’t available to respond to Kangana’s opinions about her work, but when she got a chance to guess what our Safeena had to say? In an interview, she said, ‘I respect Kangana’s work a lot and I respect her opinion. If she feels a particular way, she must have reason to feel that way. I would rather remember how much she had praised me after watching Raazi. And I’d just like to focus on my work. Maybe she will appreciate me again if I work hard enough.’
Now that is how a star deals with controversies and negative comments we would say. Taking the praises as well as the criticism all the same. The Raazi actress further quoted, ‘But I have always said that I have admired her a lot as an actor and a person. She is very outspoken and it takes courage to be that way. I wasn’t aware of this problem or anything, I was busy with the shooting. So yes, what can I say, I don’t want to upset anybody.’
