Date – February 5-8, 2026
Venue – India Art Fair, NSIC Exhibition Grounds in New Delhi.
Booth No – L 08
Description : A showcase that brings together three distinct contemporary practices by Sandilya Theuerkauf (sculpture and relief works using found plant-based material), Meenal Singh (large-format oil-on-canvas paintings driven by fluid pigment processes), and Janardhanan Rudhramoorthy (iron and steel sculptures exploring the body and spatial presence), bringing to Delhi a material-led exploration where substance, process, and material intelligence are central to artistic expression. Through sculpture and painting, the works foreground material as an active force in meaning-making.
Sandilya Theuerkauf will present sculptural and relief works shaped through an intimate dialogue with the natural world. Rooted in ecology and forest conservation, he collects fallen plant-based materials during his daily explorations, crafting each work from a single plant species as a meditative study. Adapting his technique to the physical qualities of each plant, his works transform natural elements into intricate compositions that reflect the delicate balance between human intervention and the organic world, fostering a deeper connection between the viewer and the environment.
Meenal Singh will present expansive oil-on-canvas works shaped by the fluid behaviour of liquid pigment. Working without brushes or direct contact with the canvas, she employs experimental, process-driven techniques to create immersive, abstracted landscapes where colour, movement, and materiality guide a contemplative viewing experience.
Janardhanan Rudhramoorthy will present iron and steel sculptures that explore the relationship between the human body and inner consciousness. Inspired by the layered structures of bird nests, his works transform dense materials into forms that engage with themes of presence and absence, impermanence, and transformation.
Together, the presentation highlights how material and process shape contemporary artistic practice.
KYNKYNY Art Gallery will be presenting this curated showcase of artists and sculptors at India Art Fair 2026, both no L 08, from 5th to 8th February.
About Participating Artists:
About Sandilya Theuerkauf
@sandilyatheuerkauf
Sandilya Theuerkauf’s sculptural relief works emerge from an intuitive, experiential engagement with nature. Rooted in observation, walking, and attentive presence in natural landscapes, his practice resists predetermined outcomes, allowing instinct and material to guide form. Working primarily with found natural elements such as tree bark, twigs, thorns, seeds, dried vines, and vegetal matter, his compositions explore symmetry and asymmetry, organic and geometric abstraction, and the often-overlooked textures of the natural world. Hand-making is central to his process, translating layered sensory experiences into tactile forms open to interpretation. Influenced by his upbringing in Kerala and his professional journey as an environmental educator and restoration ecologist, Sandilya’s work reflects a philosophy of learning, sharing, and deep listening—inviting viewers into a contemplative space amid increasing human alienation from nature. He lives and works on a farm on the outskirts of Bangalore.
About Meenal Singh
@meenalsingh_art
Meenal Singh’s practice is centred on oil-on-canvas paintings that explore imagined landscapes and abstracted emotional topographies through the fluid behaviour of pigment itself. Eschewing brushes and tools, she allows colour, transparency, texture, light, and motion to define expansive compositions that envelop the viewer, creating a sense of immediacy and immersion. Her visual language has evolved from densely layered, energetic surfaces to calmer, contemplative spaces, reflecting growing confidence and mastery of the medium. Trained as an architect, her work reveals a deep engagement with structure, volume, and material, while her ecological awareness and connection to land subtly inform her abstractions. Educated at the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi, with a Master’s in Conservation from Texas A&M University and training in metal sculpture at the Corcoran Museum of Art, Meenal lives and works between Bangalore and her farm in Denkanikottai, Tamil Nadu, where she has been actively involved in reforesting native land since 2014.
About Janarthanan Rudhramoorthy
@janarthananrudhramoorthy
Over the past decade, Janarthanan Rudhramoorthy has focused on exploring metal as a sculptural medium, transforming its inherent hardness and weight into forms that appear fluid, light, and dynamic. Originally trained as an artist, his shift to sculpture enabled deeper investigations into volume, space, and material paradoxes—where solid iron suggests softness, density implies transparency, and large-scale forms defy gravity. Drawing inspiration from nature and the human body, recurring motifs such as nests serve as metaphors for bodily presence, consciousness, and selfhood. His use of rust and patina reflects themes of impermanence and transformation. Through a labour-intensive, collaborative process involving technical precision and structural understanding, Jana translates philosophical ideas of presence and absence—often using traced body impressions—into sculptural form. A postgraduate of the Government College of Fine Arts, Chennai, he believes art derives meaning through shared experience and continues to build a distinctive language of spatial balance and visual synchrony.
