The Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi addressed the centenary convocation of the University of Mysore, today via virtual conference.
PM Modi reached out to the students from New Delhi and focused on the Government’s new amendments in the field of education.
Talking about the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, PM Modi highlighted the new mission of India to provide quality education from the beginning till Phd programs. The PM stated: “The National Education Policy is a major mission to bring fundamental changes in the education setup of our country, from pre-nursery to PhD. We’re focusing on a multi-dimensional approach to make the capable youth of our country more competitive. We’re trying to make them flexible and adaptable for changing nature of jobs”, focusing on the empowerment of young demography of the country.
He also spoke about the increase in the number of female students and their participation in innovation and technology which is an indication of development .
In his conference, the Prime Minister also emphasized on the expansion actions of the central government in establishing new IIMs, IITs, IIITs and AIIMS across the nation. PM talking about the number of IITs and IIITs opened in his regime also stated: “A total of seven new IIMs have been established in the last five to six years. Before this, there were only 13 IIMs in the country. Similarly, for seven decades only seven All India Institute Of Medical Science were serving the country. After the year 2014, more than double i.e., 15 AIIMS have been established in the country or are in the process of starting”.
