A thoughtfully curated Lunar New Year dining experience in Mumbai.
Mumbai, February 2026 – As the world welcomes the Lunar New Year, The Leela Mumbai introduces a thoughtfully curated celebration that brings Chinese tradition into its signature setting of opulence. The experience recalls the hotel’s commitment to cultural authenticity, refined hospitality, and meaningful guest engagement.
As the first property of The Leela legacy, the hotel continues to represent a distinct expression of Indian luxury- where heritage, design, and service are seamlessly aligned. Located within landscaped gardens and just minutes from the international airport, The Leela Mumbai offers a calm, considered environment that allows guests to step away from the city without leaving it.
The celebration is presented at The Great Wall, the hotel’s Chinese speciality restaurant, recognised for its authentic culinary traditions and elegant dining experience. Overlooking the gardens and waterfall, and detailed with classical Chinese design elements, The Great Wall provides a composed environment for the festivities.
For the season, the restaurant serves the “Feast of Fortune,” a Chinese New Year menu developed to honour traditional flavours and techniques. The experience opens with a selection of signature soups, including Sichuan hot and Sour soup, double-boiled chicken clear soup, and fish maw soup, followed by handcrafted appetisers such as crispy fried eggplant with spicy sauce, golden fried prawns, and Tai Chin chicken.
The menu continues with the finest dim sum selections, featuring mix vegetable coriander dumplings, spicy mushroom dumplings, and prawn water chestnut dumplings, before moving into a structured main course offering. Vegetarian preparations include Mapo tofu, wok-fried seasonal greens, and braised bean curd with assorted vegetables. Seafood highlights feature lobster in Singapore chilli sauce, pomfret with XO sauce, and pan-fried prawns with ginger and spring onion. Poultry and meat selections include chicken in black pepper sauce, red-braised lamb, Mongolian lamb, and braised pork belly with bean curd, offering a balanced representation of regional Chinese flavours.
The experience concludes with rich desserts such as mango pudding Cantonese style, almond tofu with stewed fruits, and chilled mango cream with sago pearls, offering a restrained and elegant close to the meal.
The experience will be available from 17th February to 3rd March 2026, with lunch service from 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm and dinner service from 7:00 pm to 11:30 pm.
The Chinese New Year celebration at The Great Wall is designed as a season-led dining experience- structured, thoughtful, and quietly distinctive, offering guests a meaningful way to engage with the festival through cuisine, setting, and tradition.
