Australian cricketer, Phillip Joel Hughes passed away at the age of 25 in 2014 after he was hit by a bouncer on his neck. It’s been five years, but the void that has been left will never be filled.

 

The wounds of his death are fresh as ever in the minds of his teammates who paid an emotional tribute to their former teammate.

Michael Clarke, who was Phil’s teammate, gave a touching eulogy as well. Sharing a picture of his little brother, he got a little teary in the caption.

Steve Smith shared a photo with Hughes on Instagram with the caption, “Miss you bro #408”, 408 signified Hughes’ Test cap number.

Hughes was batting on 63 when he was struck by the Sean Abbott’s bouncer that eventually led to his untimely death.
