Indian athletes dominated the track, field and shooting events to clinch 44 medals and stand strong in the medal tally at the South Asian Games that is being held in Kathmandu, Nepal.
In the men’s 50m rifle event, India grabbed two medals, Chain Singh won the gold while Akhil Sheoran settled with a silver. Anuj Namdeo was placed third with a bronze in men’s Chan Quan Thaulo Wushu event.

Making India proud, in the men’s 1500m event, Ajay Kumar Saro won gold and Ajeet Kumar grabbed the silver. Coming to the women’s 1500m event, India’s Chanda won the silver and Chitra Palakeez settled for a bronze. Yogesh Singh and Gurmeet Singh won gold and silver medals each in the men’s 25m center fire pistol event.
India won ten medals in Taekwondo, four in Triathlon and two in Badminton. Meanwhile, Indian women’s volleyball team clinched gold after defeating the host country, 3-2 in the finals.

Crazy but guess what? Indian men’s volleyball team won a gold as well. The latest medallists to add more gold to India’s tally are Archana S in women’s 100m and Jisna Mathew in women’s high jump. India seized a bronze under Rubina Yadav in the women’s high jump event.
In the women’s 10m rifle event, India swept away all the three spots. Mehuli Ghosh won the gold with a score of 253.3, Shriyanka Sadangi and Shreya Agarwal settled for a silver and bronze respectively.
