Boris Johnson became the new Conservative Party Leader and Britain’s Prime Minister by defeating Jeremy Hunt, on Wednesday. Former Prime Minister, Theresa May was forced to step aside after failing to deliver a Brexit deal. A vocal opponent of May’s deal, Johnson is known for his brashness, bending the truth and bad hair, earning a comparison to President Donald Trump.
Johnson upon his win attracted many congratulatory tweets from across the globe but Ivanka Trump’s tweet was special. In her tweet, Ivanka was seen mentioning an imaginary place ‘United Kingston’ while sending good wishes for the victory of the leadership of Boris Johnson, in the United Kingdom. Her tweet read, “Congratulations @BorisJohnson on becoming the next Prime Minister of the United Kingston.”

Before Ivanka’s mistake could be rectified, her tweet gathered hundreds of retweets and thousands of likes. Users captured her tweets and circulated it with hilarious captions such as, “Could be the last Prime Minister of United Kingston as well. The fragile peace between the Oceana Ski Lodge and Tokyo Karaoke bars will not survive this.”

Ivanka’s wrong spelling not only suffered backlash but also brought back the memory of Donald Trump’s “covfefe” and “Whales” incidence. Twitteratis started captioning the post “like father, like daughter”.

Well, her tweet was soon removed and the first daughter posted a new message with the correct spelling and calling it to be “the perils of autocorrect”, the internet isn’t letting Ivanka live it down.
Congratulations @BorisJohnson on becoming the next Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.
