The all-time favorite film, the film which gave us friendship goals, none other than 2001 film, ‘Dil Chahta Hai’, completed 18 years, yesterday. Directed by Farhan Akhtar, the film is all about three close friends Aakash, Sameer and Siddharth who get parted after college due to their dissimilar approaches towards love affairs and life.
The film stars Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Akshaye Khanna in lead roles while Preity Zinta plays the role of Shalini, who is Akash’s love interest. The film also features Dimple Kapadia, Sonali Kulkarni and Rajat Kapoor in pivotal roles.
As the film clocked its 18 years yesterday, Preity Zinta took to her Instagram handle reminiscing the memories from her favorite film and thanking the entire cast of the film. The songs from the film like ‘Jaane Kyun’, ‘Dil Chahta Hai title song’, ‘Woh Ladki hai Kahan’, ‘Koi Kahe Kehta Rahe’ and ‘Tanhayee’ are still enjoyed by the listeners. Produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ turned out to be a super hit which received numerous awards like Filmfare Award for Best Choreography, IIFA Award for Best Choreography, IIFA Award for Best Screenplay, Filmfare Critics Award for Best Film, Filmfare Award for Best Editing and many others.
