To celebrate all the skin colours and kickstart ‘India’s Got Colour’ Campaign, actor and filmmaker Nandita Das released two minutes 34 seconds quirky rap song by artists Amogh Baine, Joshua and Huma Sayyed.

In the video, we can see many renowned and critically acclaimed actors celebrating the diversity of skin complexion in India while showing the obsession of people with fair skin tone. The video opens with Nandita Das saying, “India mein jitne log utne rang, magar fir bhi, hum nahi sudhrenge” and in a fun way deals with several incidences from our day to day life that openly shows the deep-rooted colour biasing in our society.

The video received huge applause from people. Many netizens poured their heart out on the video and dreamt of a time when such videos won’t be needed in society.

After the launch, Nandita also thanked all the viewers for their support and the entire cast and crew who contributed to it. She wrote, “Yesterday we launched India’s Got Colour. #indiasgotcolour. And the overwhelming responses to the campaign continue to pour in. Thank you all who supported it by being in front of the camera and behind and also to those who have been sharing it widely. Working on the English subtitles by popular demand! Hope it will be dubbed in all the languages by those who can do it. It belongs to everyone and needs to reach everyone.”, and tagged all the actors who participated in the making of the video.

Actress Radhika Apte also took to her official Instagram handle and wrote, “Along with many, we just launched a campaign called ‘India’s Got Colour’. Time to celebrate diversity – 1.3 billion people, and that many shades of skin tones! It’s a fun video, meant to trigger conversations. So please spread it far and wide!”
