Facing an injury while fielding against India in the second ODI at Sydney, Australian opener David Warner has suffered from a groin strain after scans. He exhibited discomfort while fielding and limped off the field during the second innings of the match.

D’Arcy Short will join the Australia squad as a replacement for the injured David Warner, who is ruled out for the remaining one ODI match, followed by the three-match T20I series against India. Warner enjoyed a brilliant run, registering scores of 69 and 83 in the first two ODIs.

Meanwhile, Australian pacer Pat Cummins has also been rested ahead of the first Test of the summer. The head coach, Justin Langer hopes to see Warner and Cummins go through the injury rehab and return back fit.

Currently, Australia won the second ODI against India by 5 runs and have grabbed the series with the last match yet to be played in Canberra on 2 December.
