England’s fast bowler, Jofra Archer faced racial abuse from a crowd spectator at Bay Oval, New Zealand. The England team was playing a Test match against New Zealand when the incident took place in Mount Maunganui, New Zealand.
Both the country’s cricket board has launched an investigation to look into this matter. Shocked by this, Jofra spoke about the incident via a tweet.
Kiwi’s chief went down to his hotel and apologised to the English cricketer, while the Kiwi captain Kane Williamson expressed his sorry to Archer as well.
Although, New Zealand sealed the first Test by an innings and 65 runs, Jofra did not expect anything like this from New Zealanders. It was one person from the crowd who uttered the racist comments and hence they haven’t been able to locate him but the security force is still checking the CCTV footage.
Meanwhile, New Zealand’s cricket board took to social media to accept that they apologised and have zero tolerance for such racist incidents.
