The eleventh edition of Globe Soccer Award took place at Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai, UAE and proved to be a good end of 2019 for the Juventus star footballer Cristiano Ronaldo. The player, who missed out this year’s Ballon d’Or, won the Best Men’s player at Dubai Globe Soccer for the fourth time in a row.

This was the sixth win of the 34-year-old player in his sixteen years of soccer career.

Along with Cristiano, England’s right-back player Lucy Bronze bagged in the first-ever Best Women’s player title at the award ceremony.

The English skipper also took to her official social media handle sharing a gratitude note, while talking about the growth of women in the sports events. She wrote, “So very proud and honoured to have won this award

Well, on the same note, Indian grandmaster Humpy Koneru is making the nation proud with her current feat. The 32-year-old chess player claimed the World Women’s Rapid Chess Championship title held in Moscow, Russia. With her incredible performance, Koneru became the first Indian woman and the second Indian to clinch the world championship title after Vishwanathan Anand, who won the award in the year 2017.
