Yes, we are talking about Serbia’s Novak Djokovic and Switzerland’s Roger Federer.

Novak-Roger have faced each other in around 50 matches, both in the hard court and clay court. This includes 16 grand slam matches, five finals and 10 semi-finals and when it comes to wins, Djokovic is leading.

Known as the most competitive rivals in the Open Era of tennis, this duo is the only one to beat each other in all the major four Grand Slams, namely Wimbledon, US Open, French Open and Australian Open. Till date, they have had many acclaimed matches but the most prominent one is the 2019 Wimbledon final, making it the longest Wimbledon final yet.

Meanwhile, on this day in 2004, Roger Federer won his first ever US Open Grand Slam against Lleyton Hewitt by three straight sets, 6-0, 7-6, 6-0. Since then, the Swiss tennis player has been unstoppable, becoming one of the greatest in all time of tennis.
