After suffering a postponement, Women’s ICC World Cup is scheduled to be held between 4 March to 3 April 2022, shifting from its original fixture of February and March, 2021, in the same six host cities and venues.

The important event of women’s cricket will witness 31 matches played across 31 days with an opening at Tauranga’s Bay Oval. Currently, New Zealand, Australia, England, South Africa and India have qualified for the World Cup 2022 and the remaining teams will be selected from the ICC qualifying tournament which is scheduled to take place from 26 June 2021 in Sri Lanka.

Looking forward to the upcoming grand event, Indian cricket Captain Mithali Raj also said, “We have all been through a very difficult year and are happy to be getting back at playing the game we all love.” taking our focus to the past performances of the Indian team in the cricket arena, and stated: “if we manage to win the tournament in 2022, it will be a massive inspiration for the next generation of girls, as the fifty-over format is considered the pinnacle for any cricketer.”
