Royal Wedding is here! All you need to know ahead of the ceremony

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Prince Harry will wed Meghan Markle on 19 May at St George’s Chapel in Windsor. The Prince of Wales, Charles had officially announced the engagement of the couple last year in November. The wedding has been declared as an official day of celebration in the UK.

The wedding ceremony will be conducted by the Dean of Windsor, followed by an open carriage procession and then two receptions. One of the receptions is a private event which will be held at Frogmore House at the Windsor Castle. While Prince William will be serving as the best man (officially called as a supporter as per the royal family tradition) for Harry’s wedding, it is still unconfirmed who will walk the bride down the aisle. Meghan Markle had previously announced that her father would not be attending the royal wedding because of health constraints. Yet her bridesmaids will all be children from the royal family.

After the wedding ceremony leaves Windsor Castle by the Ascot Landau carriage for the procession through Castle Hill to High Street and then through Windsor Town before returning to the tree-lined Long Walk for the first reception at St George’s Hall. The formal reception will be hosted by the Queen and over 600 guests will be attending the same. The second reception will be more of a private event, hosted by Prince Charles at the Frogmore and House and only the very close family members and friends will be attending that event.

Though the information of bride’s and bridesmaids’ dresses are kept highly under wraps, we can expect two sets of gowns for the function. The royal wedding cake will be created by Claire Ptak, a London-based American pastry chef. Reports state that she will be creating a lemon elderflower wedding cake for the royal couple. Luxury floral designer Philippa Craddock will be taking care of the floral decorations using flowers that are naturally in bloom in May.
