Cricket’s fans are said to come from a diverse background and varied ages. The latter was seen to be true when an octogenarian became the highlight of the India vs Bangladesh match along with Rohit Sharma’s, extraordinary performance, yesterday.

87-year-old Charulatha Patel, was captured cheering and celebrating all the boundaries and wickets of team India. She was spotted with a Tricolour scarf, national flag in hand, and blowing a bright yellow coloured vuvuzela celebrating India’s win. When asked, she proudly replied, “I love this Indian team and all the players are like my kids.”

 

 

After the match, team India Captain Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma, personally thanked the lady for showing her love to the Indian team.

 

 

Her enthusiasm also took Anand Mahindra, the famous Industrialist and chief Economist of Mahindra Group’s, attention as he has generously announced that he will be reimbursing her ticket cost for the rest of the India matches.

 

 

Soon audience took it to social media and praised her for her enthusiasm and support. Fans wished her a long and healthy life. Michael Vaughan, the former England Captain, also shared her pictures on his Instagram and called it the ‘picture of the day’.
