India has stepped above in the BWF rankings.

The badminton duo, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty have reached their career best rank by moving to the seventh position in the men’s doubles ranking. They are the first Indian duo and third Indian team to enter the top ten in the world rankings.

Becoming India’s first men’s doubles pair to win a BWF World Tour Super 500 level title, Chirag-Satwik are having a roller coaster ride in the world tournaments. Though, they reached the French Open’s finals and China Open’s semi-finals, yet the pair has a long way ahead.

 

While, men’s single player, Sai Praneeth moved to the ninth position in the BWF ranking. Winning bronze at the World Badminton Championship, Sai is now the seventh Indian to enter the top ten in men’s world rankings.

The Sports Authority of India congratulated the trio of Praneeth, Rankireddy and Shetty for their achievements, via a tweet.
