Australia won the toss and chose to bat, putting up a massive score of 374 on the board. Playing at Sydney Cricket Ground, the captain Aaron Finch switched to attack mode and hit 114 runs followed by another century from Steve Smith. David Warner and Glen Maxwell gave good support, scoring 69 and 45, respectively.

For counter-attack, only Mohammed Shami’s bowling spoke volumes on the Australian ground. At the moment, Indian batting lineup is down with four wickets while Shikar Dhawan and Hardik Pandya are the only ray of hope for the team.

Both, the Indian and Australian team are sporting black armbands to pay their tributes to Dean Jones and in memory of Phillip Hughes, who passed away on this day six years ago. Also, the Indian squad took part in the Barefoot Circle ceremony pledging their support against racism and joined Australia in acknowledging traditional owners of the land.

Meanwhile, good news from the Indian team side!

Young bowler T Natarajan was added to India’s ODI squad as a backup for the three match series after Navdeep Saini complained of back spasm. On the other hand, Rohit Sharma is undergoing rehabilitation at the NCA and his next assessment will be on 11 December, this will decide if he’ll join the ongoing tour against Australia or not.
