The much-anticipated Redmi K20-series has launched in India by Xiaomi. The flagship killer series comprises two models, Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro. This is an entirely new series of Redmi phones, perhaps an attempt by Xiaomi to break the brand’s image as one of budget phones. Pricing of the Redmi K20-series starts at Rs 21,999 and was launched today but goes on sale at 12pm onwards on Flipkart from 22 July.

 

Redmi K20 has a 91.9 percent screen-to-body ratio and is powered by a Snapdragon 730 System on Chip (SoC). The smartphone features a pop-up selfie camera and an 8-megapixel telephoto lens.

 

While, Redmi K20 Pro has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC, Adreno 640 GPU and an 8-megapixel telephoto lens with 2x zoom. The smartphone supports 4K video recording at 60 frames per second (fps) and 960 fps slow motion video recording. It has a 20-megapixel pop-up selfie camera and features an always-on display. The smartphone supports a system-wide dark mode, weighs 191g and has a USB Type-C port

Both the smartphones, have a 6.39-inch full-HD+ Active-matrix organic light-emitting diode (AMOLED) display and runs on MIUI (user interface) 10 based on Android 9 Pie. They have a corning gorilla glass 5 at the front and back, 4,000mAh (ampere hour) battery and an 18W charge in the box. With 256GB storage and 8GB RAM, it also has an in-display fingerprint sensor. The smartphones support HDR and has a triple rear camera setup with a 48-megapixel primary sensor, 13-megapixel wide-angle sensor.

 

The limited Redmi K20 Pro Signature Edition made of Gold and a Diamond-studded logo will be available in 20 units for Rs 4,80,000. Alongside, Xiaomi has also launched few accessories like the Mi wireless neckband for Rs 1,599 and a 27W fast charger for Rs 999.
